Tom Young Memorial Cabin

Located about 20 miles South of Sitka operated by the City and Borough of Sitka is available for public use. It is accessible year-round by boat.  Cabin reservations can be made in person at the City and Borough of Sitka’s Public Works Office (Mon.-Fri. 8am-4pm), 100 Lincoln Street, Room 201, Sitka, Alaska.  The fee for using the cabin is $40 + tax per night.  For more information, please call (907) 747-1804. Starrigavan Recreation Area

A multi-recreational complex offering camping, picnicking, hiking, bird and wildlife viewing opportunities, with freshwater and saltwater fishing nearby.  Located 7 miles north of downtown at the end of Halibut Point Road, 3/4 mile from the Alaska Marine Highway Sitka Ferry Terminal.  ADA accessible, open year round (vehicle access restrictions September 16-April 30 in the campground area).  For fees charged, other amenities and additional information, visit the U.S. Forest Service website at: http://www.recreation.gov/ For general information on Starrigavan Creek Cabin, Starrigavan Campsite, the artesian well or Harbor Mountain Road and Recreation Area, contact the Sitka Ranger District Office at (907) 747-6671, M-F except holidays, 8am to 4:30pm.

Sitka Sportsman’s Association RV Park & Camping Site

Sitka Sportsman’s Association RV Park & Camping Site is adjacent to the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry terminal at 5211 Halibut Point Road, located approximately 7 miles from downtown.  There is space for 16 RV’s and tent sites are also available.  Water and electrical hookups, showers and restrooms.  Open year round.  There is also an Indoor Shooting Range, a Trap and Skeet Range, and an Archery Range available.

Sitka International Hostel

Sitka International Hostel, a not for profit organization run out of the historic Tillie Paul Manor, makes affordable accommodation and the hostelling experience available for travelers to Sitka.  Located four blocks from downtown’s Crescent Harbor, the hostel features 23 available beds in five different dormitories, as well as, one private double bed and bathroom.  Travelers should expect a uniquely cozy and friendly hostelling experience.  Sitka Hostel also offers single gender dormitories with ensuite bathroom facilities, towel rental, on-site laundry, locally roasted coffee, two separate kitchen facilities, tourist information and an extensive library/book exchange.  In order for us to maintain the lowest possible rates and for our volunteer staff to make it work, the hostel is locked up each day at 10am and reopens each evening at 6pm; quiet hours begin at 10pm and there is an 11pm curfew.  Email reservations to sitkahostel@yahoo.com or call (907) 747-8661 during business hours (“whole” hostel rentals are also an option, the entire hostel can be booked for private parties and conventions; rental conditions and rates may vary).

Sealing Cove RV Park

Sealing Cove RV Park is operated by the City and Borough of Sitka is adjacent to Sealing Cove Boat Harbor, 7 miles south of the ferry terminal, and a short distance from downtown Sitka. Space available for 26 RV’s. Water and electrical hook-ups. $37.10 including tax per night. Open May 1 to October 1. For information, contact the Sitka Harbor Master’s office.
