Sitka Tundra Tours

Sitka Tundra Tours offers tours highlighting the best of Sitka. We offer stops at Fortress of the  Bear, Sitka National Historical Park, Whale Park, Historical sights along the way including some Russian, Tlingit, and WW2 sites. We are a local family-run business using two 2024 HIGH ROOF Ford F350s, each van holds 14 clients. We drop and pick up at either the cruise ship terminal or town. Sitka Tribal Tours

Discover the Tlingit way of life and their living culture on these land “voyages”.  Explore Sitka’s Tlingit/Russian/American history with stops at Sitka National Historical Park (Totem Park) and a Native dance performance at the Tribal Community House (ticket includes all entry fees) additional stops could include Alaska Raptor Center, Fortress of the Bear, Sheldon Jackson State Museum or Sitka Sound Science Center.

On our two-hour small group “Sitka Scenic Tour,” you’ll discover why Smithsonian Magazine called Sitka, Alaska, one of the Top 20 Small Towns to Visit. You will walk among the towering totems, visit our resident bear cubs who have been rescued from certain death, and discover the amazing and true stories of Alaska’s most historic city.

Japonski Island: Passing over historic O’Connell Bridge, you’ll leave Sitka, and enter Japonski Island, where you’ll learn about Sitka’s incredible contribution in WWII and look for wildlife along the way. Totem Park: Stroll through Sitka National Historical Park, the oldest National Park in Alaska, and soak in the richness of our old-growth temperate rainforest as you learn about the Totems and the stories they hold within their carved images. Silver Bay: Continue your tour as we drive south to Silver Bay. Here, incredible beauty unfolds around each and every bend in the road. Fortress of The Bear: The final leg of your tour brings you the “Fortress of the Bear,” our most popular stop. Here you will have the opportunity to get within twenty-five feet of our distinctive brown bear in a naturalized setting. Learn the challenges they experience as they seek to rescue these incredible giants.
