Since 2015, the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce has managed the Visit Sitka destination marketing program under contract with the City and Borough of Sitka (CBS).
In 2024, CBS initiated a process to select a new contractor for the program, and the Chamber chose not to submit a proposal. The transition was originally scheduled for July 1st, 2025, however, a new contractor was not secured in time. To ensure continuity of service, the Chamber agreed to a short-term contract extension through December 31st, 2025. This temporary agreement includes a reduced scope of work due to capacity limitations.
