Sitka National Historical Park, in partnership with the Sitka Sound Science Center, invites the public to participate in a series of guided bird walks exploring the diverse birdlife of Sitka National Historical Park.

Join Chase Coleman of the Sitka Sound Science Center for recurring monthly birding walks that offer an opportunity to observe and identify the park’s resident and migratory birds while sharing knowledge and appreciation with fellow community members. Participants will learn to identify birds by sight and sound, discuss seasonal changes, and track bird activity throughout the year. Park staff will join select walks to share their expertise and perspectives on the park’s ecosystem.

These free programs are open to all experience levels, from first-time birders to seasoned enthusiasts.

Participants are encouraged to dress for Southeast Alaska weather and bring binoculars if they have them. A limited number of binoculars may be available to borrow.
