Paddle through areas accessible only by kayak in the Sitka Sound on one of our all-levels kayak tours led by an expert guide. Sitka Sound is always a magical place, choke full of wildness, but the early morning and evening hours out on the Sound are the most magical time of all. The beginnings and endings to each long Alaska summer day can be extraordinarily peaceful, and the low-angle lighting often creates perfect conditions for viewing & photography. It is also a time of very little human presence, when most species of wildlife just seem to be more at ease, more active, and especially exciting to observe.

Set out aboard the deluxe expedition vessel Peregrine for a personalized wilderness experience you will never forget. Captain John is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable captains in Alaska, with a decades-long reputation for exceeding his guests’ expectations. He will make itinerary recommendations based on his extensive knowledge of the area, recent sightings and the conditions of the day, but John’s ultimate goal is to craft the expedition to suit your preferences.

Accommodations aboard the Peregrine include a spacious, heated cabin, very comfortable seating, and wrap-around windows that allow unobstructed viewing in every direction.  Even the restroom has an excellent view!  The large open-air deck is located forward on the vessel to provide the best possible vantage point for viewing during approaches to wildlife and other sights, and there is a landing craft-style bow door to allow easy beach access.
